AFTRS opens course in Motion Graphics and Emerging Media in Melbourne

This 4 month course focuses on teaching professional motion graphics design for film, television, and emerging media such as; IP television, home media servers, iTV and mobile platforms. With a strong production and design focus, this course is grounded in learning techniques of digital imaging, typography for the screen and interface design. Participants will be involved in brainstorming new models for the design of screen media.
This course is vocationally focused and is designed to prepare participants for careers as creative digital artists in film, television and emerging media industries, and is suitable for titles and broadcast designers, graphic designers, web designers, editors, animators and art directors.
A range of subjects will be covered with a focus on creating motion graphics experiences for the screen informed by real world production concerns. Participants will design an interactive project for an emerging medium and will complete two or more major projects for an industry client - in the past these have included MTV, Fuel and Nickelodeon. By the end of the course participants will be equipped with skills that will enable them to handle a range of professional design briefs.
